What if the inner planes were real? An Actuality. What if there is a place of everlasting connection that we all share. The first time I imagined the possibility that place could be real was first time I met Pir Vilayat. I had been to numerous of his meditation retreats but this was the first time I actually met him in person.
It was at the Abode and I was near the top of the hill in the center courtyard. He had just arrived far down the hill and I watched as various residents and a few retreatants acknowledged his presence. Then he walked directly up the hill to me. He then spoke with some familiarity with me, and I realized he mistook me for a resident he might have known quite well. I hesitantly and gently, said as such. He immediately replied, “Most of my work is done on the inner planes.”
I imagined he was implying that it is there that I know you. From that day on, born within me, was the hoped for possibility that the inner planes are real. And slowly, through the many decades, for me they are becoming an actuality. That reality seems to be aiding me in my writing. ~ Shams
