It is a dangerous thing to think one knows

I have often referred to what I thought of as a the Sufi story that I called ‘The Blind Men and the Elephant’ but it’s actual a poem by Rumi entitled ‘Elephant in the Dark‘. In the story I thought I knew something but no I had just assumed I knew and I was caught in that trap of thinking I know. Here is the whole poem.
Is there a place in there that we can come enter the mystery of ‘Not Knowing‘.

If each of us held a candle there,
and if we went in together,
we could see it.
