Recall Joe Miller’s guidance that one gentle in-ward half breath is enough to reconnect to the source. This may seem to border on the impossible. But perhaps what is missing is that the rhythm of this practitioner, that is able to do this, is almost ‘In Balance’ already.
But as my mind is jumping about, as I am intoxicated with my own self and with the activity that surrounds me, including things like my reactions to positive or negative bits of news — In other words, when I am out of balance. From that state, that one gentle half breath is not enough to re-establish connection to the source.
So when significantly out of balance, I need a more vigorous practice to almost rebalance myself before this gentle half breath can be effective. I might need a prolonged Zikr or a 101 mantra session, or lots of elements breaths, or a long silent walk in nature then, back in relative balance, that gentle inward half breath is effective.
“Be in The World but not of The World” – – – When I am out of balance I am quite the opposite. The World is all to me and the other is just imagined not an actuality.
