The Field between Heaven and Earth
Chapter Two by Dirk Phirose Hein
Our evolution
When we examine the history of humankind, we still observe creatures being driven by the need to find food and resources, having to survive life on this planet. In the timeline of the evolution of homo sapiens, the history of civilization still places us relatively close to the stage of indigenous humans who were hunters and gatherers. So, our mind still has the instinct to procure food for our family, even when the jungle is replaced by Wall Street, our weapon is in our briefcase and the enemy tribe is our company’s competition. However, such survival instinct and urge to conquer others still present in our times has led to profiteering and greed beyond the mere need to feed our families and has continued to create the justification for wars.
Our new and awakened consciousness recognizes that we are all an integral part of the whole ecosystem, are connected to the source, Mother Nature, and are cared for. Many of us have more than enough and are in a position to share with those who do not have. However, such consciousness precludes that we recognize others as no different from us, regardless of race, creed, or culture
