Oh Guidance, what is this pain?

What is this pain Shahabuddin speaks of? I don’t know.

Perhaps, it is my deepest inner consciousness being boxed in by the smothering avalanche of Thinking and Attachment to outer things. When death is experienced not as a concept but as ‘Real’ something opens in me and something falls away. That opening is such ‘Freedom’ — my soul knows it is present and knows what truly matters.

Pir might have spoke of it as the pain of separation, as this deep longing to reunite with one’s own source. But as a concept that means so little but as a feeling of all pervading loss so used to that it is not felt but forgotten.
